ASI-8065

Avient Specialty Inks ASI Brittle Base is a specialty ink formulated to create cracked, distressed, and vintage screen printing effects. After curing and cooling, the printed area can be stretched by hand, causing the ink surface to fracture and produce a custom worn appearance.

ASI Brittle Base is tintable with compatible plastisol colorants, providing a wide range of color possibilities. The tough, hard-wearing formula offers excellent fabric adhesion and wash durability without drying in the screen.

Printing Tips

• Print directly onto the fabric for the best cracking results.
• Use an 86-110 threads-per-inch mesh with consistent screen tension.
• A sufficient ink deposit is essential for achieving the desired cracking effect.
• Use a hard flood and slow print stroke with a sharp-edged squeegee.
• Print in the final color position or flash after each print when using multiple screens.
• After the print has cooled, stretch the printed area by hand to create a custom distressed appearance.

Cure: Cure between 340°F and 350°F. Additional dwell time may be required to achieve a complete cure and the desired cracking effect.
